Job Description

Job Title:

Key Responsibilities

1. Release Planning & Governance

  • Own and manage the

    end-to-end release calendar

     for AEM, NextJs and NodeJs based projects.
  • Conduct

    release readiness reviews

    , stakeholder approvals, and production deployment sign-offs.
  • Establish clear

    Go/No-Go criteria

     and communicate deployment status to all stakeholders.
  • Track release metrics: deployment frequency, success rate, rollback count, and post-release defects.

2. DevOps Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a

    12-member DevOps team

     responsible for environment management, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation.
  • Drive performance goals, conduct regular reviews, and build a culture of ownership and accountability.
  • Prioritize and allocate tasks to the team and track to closures without any SLA breaches.

3. CI/CD & Automation

  • Oversee build and deployment pipelines on

    GitHub Actions / Jenkins / Azure DevOps

    .
  • Ensure consistent, automated, and version-controlled deployments for AEM, NextJs and NodeJS components.
  • Integrate

    static code analysis, vulnerability scanning, and test automation

     into the CI/CD process.
  • Continuously improve deployment velocity and reduce manual interventions.

4. Environment & Cloud Management

  • Ensure environment consistency across

    prod and non-prod environments

    .
  • Coordinate provisioning and scaling of AWS resources (

    EC2, S3, CloudFront, RDS, Lambda, Route 53, etc.

    ).
  • Manage integration with

    Akamai/CDN, New Relic, and Splunk

     for performance and monitoring.
  • Implement effective

    DR

    strategies, backup policies, and incident response

     procedures.

5. Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with

    Product Owners, QA leads, and Architects

     to plan and prioritize releases.
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment across

    Tech, QA and business

     teams.
  • Serve as the primary communication channel during release windows and post-release support.

6. Risk & Incident Management

  • Anticipate risks related to overlapping releases or dependencies.
  • Define and maintain

    rollback plans and contingency procedures

    .
  • Lead

    war rooms and RCA discussions

     for failed or delayed deployments.
  • Drive continuous improvement based on RCA learnings.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Atleast 3 years of experience in Release Management/ Change Management.
  • Proven experience

    leading a mid-sized DevOps or Release team (1015 members)

    .
  • Strong understanding of

    Agile, ITIL, and release governance frameworks

    .
  • Ability to manage

    multiple releases per week

     with zero downtime.
  • Excellent planning, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors / Masters degree in Engineering
  • ITIL, AWS certification

     preferred.
