Instana Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled IBM Instana Monitoring Engineer to lead the installation, configuration, and operationalization of the Instana Application Performance Monitoring (APM) platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying Agents across infrastructure, configuring integrations, and creating intuitive dashboards and alerting rules to enable real-time observability across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
Install and configure IBM Instana (SaaS / on-prem) based on enterprise requirements
Deploy and manage OneAgents across bare-metal, virtual machines, containers, Kubernetes, and cloud environments
Integrate Instana with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP
Design and implement dashboards, custom metrics, service level objectives (SLOs), and alert policies
Configure distributed tracing, metrics, and log collection across key applications (Java, Python, .NET, Node.js, etc.)
Work closely with DevOps, SRE, and Application teams to fine-tune observability and performance insights
Provide documentation, knowledge transfer, and onboarding support for internal teams
Monitor Instana platform health and manage upgrades and troubleshooting
Required Skills and Experience
Strong experience with IBM Instana installation and OneAgent deployment
Hands-on experience with infrastructure monitoring (Linux, Windows, Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Working knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed tracing
Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python) and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform)
Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and REST APIs
