Job Description

Role Overview: As an IBDP Mathematics Teacher (AA & AI), you will be responsible for teaching Mathematics: Analysis & Approaches (AA) and Mathematics: Applications & Interpretation (AI) at both SL and HL levels. Your role will involve designing learning experiences that encourage strong mathematical thinking, problem-solving, conceptual understanding, real-life application, and inquiry-based learning in alignment with the IB philosophy. It is crucial for you to be familiar with IB assessment expectations, mathematical modeling, and differentiated instruction methods. Key Responsibilities: - Teach IBDP Mathematics AA and AI (SL/HL) using inquiry-based, concept-driven, and student-centered methodologies. - Develop engaging lessons to enhance students" analytical, reasoning, technological, and modeling skills. - Integrate tools like graphing software, dynamic geometry applications, spreadsheets, and statistical technology as needed. - Prepare students for DP assessments including Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3 (HL) as well as Mathematical Exploration (Internal Assessment). - Support students of varying abilities through differentiation, scaffolding, and enrichment opportunities. Curriculum & Assessment: - Plan unit plans and assessments in line with IB DP Mathematics AA/AI guides and school policies. - Create and grade formative and summative assessments using IB criteria and rubrics. - Provide timely and constructive feedback to enhance student performance. - Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and readiness for IB internal and external assessments. - Contribute to ongoing curriculum review and development within the Mathematics Department. Student Support & Pastoral Care: - Mentor and guide students through the IA process, assisting in topic selection, research, mathematical justification, and reflection. - Offer additional academic support through consultations, tutorials, or enrichment sessions. - Regularly communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress and learning needs. - Promote academic honesty, resilience, and responsible digital/technological use among students. Professional Development & School Engagement: - Engage in IB workshops (Category 1/2/3), departmental meetings, and collaborative planning. - Keep updated with changes in the IB Mathematics curriculum and assessment procedures. - Contribute to co-curricular and extracurricular programs like math clubs, competitions, Olympiads, STEM events, or tutoring initiatives. - Support broader school events and uphold the ethos of the IB Learner Profile. Qualifications & Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field. - Teaching certification (B.Ed., PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent). - Experience in teaching senior-level mathematics, preferably in an IB context. - Strong understanding of conceptual, inquiry-based mathematics teaching. - Proficiency with mathematical technology tools such as Desmos, GeoGebra, spreadsheet tools, and GDCs. - Experience in teaching IBDP Mathematics AA and/or AI. - IB-certified training (DP Category 1/2). - Experience in guiding students through Mathematical Exploration IAs.,
