Human Resource Manager

Position Summary

The HR Manager will be responsible for leading the HR function across the distribution/CFA and hospitality verticals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Recruitment and Workforce Planning (High Acumen Required)

• Develop and execute end-to-end recruitment strategies to fill roles across all districts of Kerala for both the Distribution/CFA and Hospitality verticals.
• Focus on efficient volume hiring for operational roles while maintaining quality for key management positions.
• Manage the recruitment budget, selection tools, and the onboarding process for a geographically scattered workforce.

2. Statutory Compliance and Industrial Relations

• Ensure

  100% compliance

  with all central, state, and local labor laws and regulations applicable to both the distribution (CFA) and hospitality industries in Kerala (e.g., Factories Act, Shops & Commercial Establishments Act, EPF, ESI, Minimum Wages Act).
• Oversee timely and accurate filing of all statutory returns and maintenance of required registers.
• Manage industrial relations and handle regulatory inspections, ensuring adherence to the Kerala labor landscape.

3. People Management and Employee Engagement

• Serve as the key point of contact for managers and employees across all districts, addressing employee relations issues, grievances, and disciplinary matters with fairness and professionalism.
• Implement performance management systems that encourage productivity and growth in both the logistics and service sectors.
• Develop and champion initiatives to enhance employee morale, engagement, and retention across Kavalakat Group's diverse verticals.

4. HR Administration and Operations

• Administer compensation, benefits, and payroll processes in alignment with industry standards and legal requirements.
• Maintain accurate employee data and leverage HRIS tools for efficient HR operations.
• Develop and update company policies, procedures, and the employee handbook specific to the company's structure and operations in Kerala.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Education:

  Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's Degree (MBA/MSW in HR) is highly preferred.

• Experience:

  Minimum

  5-7 years

  of progressive HR experience, with at least

  3 years

  in a managerial capacity. Experience in

  logistics/distribution/manufacturing

  and/or

  hospitality

  sectors is a significant advantage.

• Knowledge:

  Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of

  Kerala-specific labor laws and statutory compliances

  .

• Language:

  Fluency in

  Malayalam

  and English is essential for effective communication across the state.

Essential Skills and Competencies

• Recruitment Acumen:

  Proven ability to source, screen, and hire candidates efficiently across multiple locations/districts.

• Statutory Compliance:

  Expert-level knowledge and practical experience managing labor law adherence (PF, ESI, Gratuity, etc.).

• People Management:

  Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills to manage a dispersed workforce.

• Business Partnering:

  Ability to work closely with the leadership team and business unit heads to align HR practices with company goals.

• Integrity:

  High standard of professionalism, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
