Job Description

Key responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures and work permit systems at the site as per company and statutory requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, hazard identification, risk assessment (HIRA/JSA) and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable HSE laws, client requirements and standards (e.g., use of PPE, safe lifting, work at height, confined space, hot work).
  • Conduct daily Tool Box Talks, safety inductions and periodic safety training for employees, subcontractors and workers.
  • Investigate incidents, near-misses and unsafe conditions, prepare reports, and track closure of corrective actions.
  • Maintain and update all HSE documentation such as checklists, registers, permits, inspection records and statutory records.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness: emergency drills, firefighting equipment inspections and first-aid arrangements.
  • Promote good housekeeping and safe material handling practices across the site.
  • Liaise with client HSE representatives, statutory bodies and internal teams during audits, inspections and HSE meetings.
  • Support implementation of environmental controls (waste management, spill control, dust and noise control) at site.
  • The candidate should be capable of handling the entire section independently.
  • The candidate should have knowledge of Testing and Commissioning for the up-gradation of the electric traction system from 125 kV to 225 kV, along with modification of the existing OHE suitable for 160 kmph operation.
  • If the candidate holds a B.Tech degree, a minimum of 5 years of experience in Railway OHE line works is required. If the candidate holds a Diploma, a minimum of 8 years of experience in Railway OHE line works is required.
  • The candidate must have completed ADIS or PDIS in Safety

Candidate profile

  • Education:
    • Diploma / B.Tech in Engineering (preferred) or Any Graduate with recognised HSE/Safety qualification (e.g., Diploma in Industrial Safety, NEBOSH/IOSH or equivalent).
  • Experience:
  • If the candidate holds a B.Tech degree, a minimum of 5 years of experience in Railway OHE line works is required. If the candidate holds a Diploma, a minimum of 8 years of experience in Railway OHE line works

  • Technical skills:
    • Knowledge of Indian HSE legislation, IS codes and relevant industry standards.
    • Hands-on experience in conducting safety inspections, HIRA/JSA, incident investigation, and toolbox talks.
  • Behavioral competencies:
    • Strong observation skills and proactive approach to risk identification.
    • Good communication and training skills with site workmen and supervisors.
    • Ability to work independently at site and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.

  • Work schedule: Site-based, 6 days a week, extended hours as per project requirement.
  • Salary range: As per industry standards and candidate experience.
