HPC Engineer

As an HPC Engineer, you will be responsible for the hands-on administration of High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure. Your expertise will include working with Red Hat Enterprise Linux or similar distributions like CentOS Stream and Rocky Linux. Proficiency in scripting languages such as bash, python, or similar is essential for this role. You will have experience in the installation, configuration, and administration of Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) software like LS-DYNA, Nastran, StarCCM+, Abaqus, Fluent, etc., specifically tailored for HPC environments. Additionally, familiarity with queue systems like SLURM/PBS job schedulers and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) applications will be required. A strong understanding of HPC interconnect technologies such as InfiniBand, Omni-Path, and MPI is crucial for optimizing system performance. Knowledge of network technologies including TCP/IP, networked file systems like NFS, GFS, Lustre, and GPFDS is also necessary. In this role, basic project management skills are beneficial as you will be involved in hardware and software upgrade programs. Your responsibilities will encompass developing cluster tools, automating deployments, optimizing HPC job workflows, monitoring alerts, and analyzing usage and performance metrics.,
