Job Title : Housekeeping Supervisor

Department: Housekeeping

Reports To: Restaurant Manager

Location: Khaleez Restaurant ,Tirur

Job Description :

The Housekeeping Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and managing the full spectrum of housekeeping, maintenance support, STP operations, pest control, and accommodation housekeeping functions for the restaurant. This role ensures cleanliness, safety, compliance, and operational efficiency across all internal and external areas of the restaurant. The supervisor will lead a team of housekeeping, STP, plumbing, and maintenance staff, ensuring high standards of service delivery and timely job execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Housekeeping Operations

  • Supervise daily housekeeping activities to maintain high cleanliness and hygiene standards across the restaurant premises.
  • Allocate tasks, prepare duty rosters, and ensure timely completion of all housekeeping jobs.
  • Conduct regular deep cleaning processes across the restaurant – kitchen, dining areas, storage, utilities, and external premises – without fail, following a fixed schedule
  • Train and guide the housekeeping team on cleaning methods, safety protocols, chemical usage, and equipment handling.
  • Conduct regular inspections of all areas including dining spaces, kitchen support areas, customer zones, storage rooms, and external areas.

Team Leadership & Staff Management

  • Lead, monitor, and manage teams from housekeeping, STP, and maintenance departments.
  • Assign daily duties and track work performance, punctuality, and productivity.
  • Identify staff shortages and arrange timely replacements or manpower allocation.
  • Support HR in recruiting efficient and skilled staff for housekeeping, STP, and maintenance positions.
  • Conduct periodic performance evaluations and mentor staff for improvement.

STP (Sewage Treatment Plant) Operations

  • Monitor daily functioning of the STP to ensure smooth operations and compliance with safety and environmental norms.
  • Supervise STP staff, create duty schedules, and ensure adherence to operational protocols.
  • Oversee chemical handling, dosing, and ensure stock availability of STP-related consumables.
  • Address operational issues and coordinate with technical support when required.

Maintenance & Upkeep

  • Coordinate minor plumbing and maintenance tasks; take initiatives for quick repairs where feasible.
  • Inspect and ensure proper functioning of utilities such as water pumps, drainage lines, lighting, and sanitary fixtures.
  • Coordinate with external vendors or maintenance contractors when major repair work is needed.
  • Maintain both the interior and exterior of the restaurant—parking area, pathways, waste areas, and overall property upkeep.

Pest Control Management

  • Plan and execute scheduled pest control treatments across the restaurant and accommodation.
  • Coordinate with third-party pest control vendors and ensure compliance and documentation.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of pest control programs and take corrective actions as needed.

Accommodation Management

  • Oversee staff accommodation facilities ensuring cleanliness, maintenance, and safety.
  • Conduct periodic inspections and manage maintenance tasks including plumbing, cleaning, waste disposal, and basic repairs.
  • Implement rules and ensure discipline in staff accommodations.

Safety, Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, environmental, and safety standards.
  • Maintain records of housekeeping schedules, STP operations logs, pest control reports, and maintenance checklists.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, tools, and maintenance materials.
  • Report incidents, breakdowns, or emergency situations to management promptly.

Additional Duties

  • Ensure proper waste segregation, disposal procedures, and recycling as per standards.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen and operations team to support event setups or special cleaning requirements.
  • Implement continuous improvement practices to enhance cleanliness and safety standards.

Qualification:

  • Diploma/Certificate in Housekeeping, Facility Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2- 4 years of experience in housekeeping or facility management; supervisory experience required. Preferably in Restaurant field
  • Experience in STP operations, maintenance supervision, or pest control management is an added advantage.
