Job Summary

A Housekeeping Supervisor in a hotel is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness, maintenance, and overall presentation of guest rooms and public areas. This role involves supervising housekeeping staff, ensuring compliance with hotel standards, and maintaining a high level of guest satisfaction through attention to detail and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Supervision & Staff Management:

  • Assign daily cleaning duties and inspect rooms, corridors, and common areas for cleanliness.
  • Train, motivate, and monitor housekeeping staff to maintain high service standards.
  • Conduct daily briefings to communicate tasks, special requests, and hotel policies.
  • Ensure staff adhere to safety procedures and hygiene standards.

Quality Control & Inspection:

  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and order.
  • Check that housekeeping staff follow proper cleaning procedures and use appropriate supplies.
  • Address and resolve any cleanliness or maintenance issues immediately.
  • Ensure lost and found items are properly documented and stored.

Guest Service & Satisfaction:

  • Respond to guest requests promptly, such as additional amenities, extra towels, or room preferences.
  • Handle guest complaints related to housekeeping services and take corrective action.
  • Coordinate with front desk and maintenance teams to ensure guest satisfaction.

Inventory & Supplies Management:

  • Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities.
  • Place orders for housekeeping materials and control inventory to avoid wastage.
  • Ensure proper storage and labeling of chemicals and cleaning products.

Health, Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with hotel hygiene and sanitation regulations.
  • Enforce proper handling of cleaning equipment and chemical safety procedures.
  • Report any maintenance or repair needs to the engineering department.

Qualifications & SkillsEducation & Experience:

  • Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in housekeeping, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in a hotel or resort environment is highly desirable.

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping equipment, chemicals, and cleaning techniques

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
