Job Title: Housekeeping Supervisor

Department: Housekeeping
Location: Ooty
Reports To: Executive Housekeeper / General Manager

Job Summary:

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily housekeeping operations, ensuring all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces are clean, well-maintained, and meet the organization’s hygiene and quality standards. The role involves supervising housekeeping staff, managing schedules, inspecting rooms, and ensuring excellent guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of housekeeping staff, including room attendants, public area attendants, and linen attendants.
  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas for cleanliness, maintenance, and overall presentation.
  • Ensure all cleaning assignments are completed according to established standards and timelines.
  • Train, guide, and motivate team members to maintain consistent quality and productivity.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, linen, and guest amenities; place requisitions as required.
  • Maintain proper records of attendance, room status, cleaning schedules, and maintenance issues.
  • Coordinate with the front office and maintenance departments for room readiness and repair follow-ups.
  • Address guest complaints or feedback promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation protocols at all times.
  • Support the Executive Housekeeper in preparing reports and performance evaluations.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management or related field.
  • 2–4 years of housekeeping experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role (preferred in hotels/resorts).
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, materials, and housekeeping procedures.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Eye for detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Ability to manage a team effectively and handle pressure situations.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office, PMS knowledge preferred).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹24,000.00 per month
