Horticulturist

• Oversee the propagation, planting, and cultivation of plants, including trees, shrubs, flowers, and indoor plants.
• Monitor and maintain soil health, irrigation systems, and fertilizer schedules.
• Identify and manage plant pests, diseases, and other health issues using sustainable practices.
• Implement integrated pest management (IPM) techniques to minimize damage.
• Develop plant arrangements for garden designs, balcony decorations, and biophilic setups.
• Train and mentor nursery staff in horticultural best practices, including pruning, watering, and pest control.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and nursery maintenance standards.
• Provide expert advice to customers on plant care and maintenance.
• Assist in resolving customer inquiries regarding plant health and landscaping solutions.
• Maintain records of plant growth, health, and inventory levels.
• Ensure proper labeling and organization of plant species within the nursery.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Botany, Agriculture, or a related field.

Skills:

• Extensive knowledge of plant species, propagation techniques, and pest management.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in basic computer software for record-keeping and reporting.
