Job Overview:

As the Assistant Vice President and AVP of Operations for Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), you will play a critical role in overseeing and optimizing the financial performance of our organization. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end revenue cycle process, ensuring efficient billing, coding, collections, and reimbursement procedures. Your leadership will be essential in driving operational excellence, enhancing revenue integrity, and maximizing financial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities.

1. Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to optimize revenue cycle operations and financial performance.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of revenue cycle processes.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align revenue cycle goals with overall organizational objectives.

2. Operational Management

  • Oversee all aspects of the revenue cycle, including patient registration, charge capture, coding, billing, collections, and reimbursement.
  • Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to streamline revenue cycle workflows and minimize revenue leakage.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, payer guidelines, and industry standards.

3. Team Leadership and Development:

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the revenue cycle team, including managers, supervisors, and frontline staff.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the revenue cycle department.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, training sessions, and professional development initiatives for staff members.

4. Financial Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze revenue cycle data, trends, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for process improvement and revenue enhancement.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports, forecasts, and analyses for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Monitor key financial indicators and variances, taking proactive measures to address any issues or discrepancies.

5. Technology and Automation:

  • Evaluate, implement, and optimize revenue cycle management systems, software applications, and technology solutions.
  • Leverage automation, artificial intelligence, and machine learning tools to streamline revenue cycle processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and innovations in revenue cycle technology, recommending strategic investments as appropriate.

6. Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, clinical departments, IT, and external partners, to drive revenue cycle initiatives and initiatives.
  • Serve as a liaison with external stakeholders, such as payers, regulatory agencies, and third-party vendors, to resolve issues and optimize reimbursement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, finance, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in revenue cycle management, with a focus on healthcare operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of revenue cycle processes, including billing, coding, reimbursement, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proven track record of driving operational excellence, process improvement, and financial results within a healthcare organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Leadership qualities, including strategic vision, team building, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
  • Familiarity with revenue cycle management software, electronic health records (EHR), and healthcare IT systems.
  • Certification in revenue cycle management (e.g., CRCR, CHFP) is a plus.
