Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, evaluate, and finalize vendors for packing materials, business promotion, and administrative requirements.
  • Negotiate price, quality, credit terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost efficiency.
  • Maintain and update vendor database, ensuring vendor compliance with company policies.
  • Raise and process purchase orders (POs) in line with approved indents.
  • Ensure timely availability of materials across locations without stock-outs.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (production, marketing, admin, finance) to align purchase with operational needs.
  • Monitor and control purchase costs.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through alternate sourcing, vendor consolidation, or bulk procurement.
  • Support finance in tracking spend vs. budget.
  • Track inventory levels of packing materials and reorder stock based on consumption patterns.
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods to all factory locations.
  • Coordinate with logistics/transport teams to resolve delivery issues.
  • Maintain proper purchase documentation, contracts, and vendor agreements.
  • Ensure adherence to companys purchase policies, statutory requirements, and audit compliance.
  • Prepare MIS reports on purchase spend, vendor performance, and savings achieved.
  • Work closely with Marketing for business promotion material procurement.
  • Support Administration in procuring office essentials, AMC contracts, and event requirements.
  • Coordinate with Finance for vendor payments and reconciliation.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate in Commerce / Business Administration / Supply Chain; MBA preferred.
  • Experience: 4–6 years of experience in purchase/procurement, preferably in FMCG / Manufacturing sector.
  • Category Knowledge: Strong experience in sourcing packing materials, promotional items, and admin-related purchases.
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of ERP/SAP or other procurement systems; MS Excel proficiency.
  • Behavioral Skills: Strong negotiation skills, vendor relationship management, analytical thinking, and cost-conscious mindset.

Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel across company locations (Kallakottai, Walayar, Kunigal, Puducherry).
  • Ability to handle multiple categories and deliver under tight timelines.
