Job Description

In your role as Highway Engineer, you will be expected to carry out the duties listed below and engage with the team while seeking the appropriate support and guidance from senior members of staff. Responsibilities Production of design documentation for highway projects, including sketches, drawings, calculations, reports and specifications. Undertake the production of NEC tender/contract documentation. Assist in the preparation of fee offers, as well as supporting bids and tenders. Assist the project management and quantity surveying team in the, development of cost estimates. Mentor and develop junior members of staff. Liaise with clients and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and expectations are managed effectively. Develop and maintain relationships with clients and other external contacts and seek opportunities to develop business. Keep up-to-date with industry developments and emerging technologies, and contribute to the development of best practices and innovations in highway engineering Experience Proficient in the use of Civils 3D, Keylines, Keysigns and Vehicle tracking Proficient in the use of current UK highway design guidance documents including DMRB, Manual for Street, Active Travel Guidance etc. Working knowledge of the NEC ECC suite of contracts Excellent understanding and knowledge of Construction Design Management(CDM) Proven experience in successfully delivering quality highway projects in a high-pressure multi-disciplined environment. Ability to propose potential design solutions to solve engineering problems and apply engineering judgement to consider and recommend options Proven experience working within the highway industry Experience working with Local Authorities, National Highways, Welsh Government, and Major Contractors.
