This is a permanent, fulltime post of 37 hours per week, with a shift pattern of Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work to cover public holiday weekends (10 hour shifts). The successful applicant will work 4 days per week in all areas – Day surgery, Recovery, Transfer and our Same Day Admission unit.This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Health Care Support Worker to join our Theatre Recovery/Day surgery team Gartnavel General Hospital. Specialties within GGH include General Surgery, Oncoplastic/Breast Surgery, Urology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Orthopaedic elective/trauma, Oncology, Interventional Radiology. We can expand your skills and knowledge across a diverse range of cases. Our education team will guide and support you whether you are a new or experienced HCSW.Candidates should have the ability to work well under pressure, willing to work flexibly to meet the needs of the 24/7 service while supporting the team to provide safe and effective care to patients with varying levels of complexity. The ability to work on your own initiative but also as part of an integrated team is required. Previous HCSW experience is desirable, but applicants with no experience will be considered as training will be provided. Candidates must also be able to demonstrate they are an effective team member, with excellent communication and IT skills. You will be required to work within a flexible shift pattern.
