Head - Process Engineering

Key Responsibilities:

1. Process Leadership:

• Lead the process engineering function for ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) components including calipers, valves, sensors, and assemblies.
  
• Define, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes to ensure high quality, cost efficiency, and production reliability.
  
• Establish standardized work instructions, SOPs, and best practices for the ABS division.
  

2. Process Design & Optimization:

• Design and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing ABS components, including machining, assembly, testing, and validation.
  
• Drive process capability improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  
• Collaborate with R&D and product development teams for process feasibility and manufacturability studies.
  

3. Production Support & Troubleshooting:

• Analyze and resolve process-related production issues, material inconsistencies, and quality deviations.
  
• Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to ensure zero-defect manufacturing.
  
• Support root cause analysis and process failure investigations.
  

4. New Product Introduction (NPI):

• Lead the process design and setup for NPI of ABS modules, sensors, and subassemblies.
  
• Define process flow, tooling, fixtures, and layout for pilot and full-scale production.
  
• Coordinate with quality, supply chain, and engineering teams for smooth product launch.
  

5. Cross-functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with design engineering, quality, production, and supply chain teams to ensure processes are robust, scalable, and cost-effective.
  
• Act as a key link between engineering and manufacturing for process-related decisions.
  

6. Team Leadership & Development:

• Mentor and develop a high-performing process engineering team.
  
• Allocate responsibilities, track performance, and ensure skill development within the team.
  
• Drive a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement in the shop floor.
  

7. Technology & Innovation:

• Identify and implement advanced manufacturing technologies (automation, robotics, IoT, Industry 4.0) for ABS production.
  
• Keep abreast of industry trends and integrate best-in-class processes into manufacturing operations.
  

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

• B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial / Automotive Engineering.
  
• Masters degree or specialization in Manufacturing / Process Engineering is a plus.
  

Experience:

• 1218 years of experience in automotive manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  
• Strong experience in

  ABS, braking systems, or automotive components manufacturing

  .
• Hands-on experience in process engineering, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and NPI for complex assemblies.
  

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong technical knowledge of machining, assembly, and testing of ABS components.
  
• Expertise in process improvement, root cause analysis, and production optimization.
  
• Experience with ERP/MES systems and production planning.
  
• Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  
• Results-oriented mindset with a focus on quality, cost, and delivery.
