Head of Software Engineering

As the Head of Software Engineering at our company, you will play a crucial role in defining and delivering innovative technology solutions across our products and platforms. Your responsibilities will include setting the technology vision, leading cross-functional teams, evaluating emerging technologies, and ensuring the delivery of secure and scalable solutions. Key Responsibilities: - Define the overall technology vision, architecture, and roadmap across cloud, data, and application layers. - Evaluate and introduce emerging technologies such as serverless, microservices, blockchain, VR, and AI/ML to drive business value. - Lead cross-functional engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions. - Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs and delivery plans. - Oversee DevOps, cloud infrastructure, data operations, and application development practices. - Mentor and coach engineers to foster a culture of innovation, automation, and quality. - Ensure compliance with security standards and optimize costs in cloud environments. Required Skills & Experience: - 10+ years of experience in senior engineering or architecture roles, with a minimum of 3 years in leadership positions. - Hands-on experience with technologies like AWS/GCP, Terraform, serverless architectures, microservices, and data platforms. - Proficiency in at least two programming languages such as Python, Go, NodeJS, Scala, or C#. - Experience in designing and implementing CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and cloud-native applications. - Ability to evaluate and integrate emerging technologies like VR, blockchain, and data analytics. - Proven track record of defining technology roadmaps and successfully delivering complex projects end-to-end. Nice to Have: - Previous experience in start-ups or consultancies driving technology strategy for multiple clients. - Familiarity with security/compliance frameworks such as SOC2, ISO27001, or similar. - Experience in building or scaling data-intensive products using tools like Databricks, Spark, and Redshift.
