Head of Software Engineering

You are a dynamic and experienced Head of Engineering tasked with leading the development of an AI-powered Autonomous Cloud Portal. Your responsibilities include driving the full software development life cycle, managing multiple engineering teams, and ensuring timely, secure, and scalable delivery of product features. This pivotal role demands strong leadership, architectural understanding, and deep hands-on experience in cloud-native systems, AI/ML integration, and DevOps practices. You will build, lead, and mentor cross-functional teams encompassing backend, frontend, AI/ML, QA, and DevOps while fostering an engineering culture focused on innovation, ownership, quality, and continuous improvement. Facilitating hiring, training, and performance management across engineering roles is also a key aspect of this position. Your strategic acumen will be put to the test as you define and execute the engineering roadmap aligned with business goals and product strategy. Ensuring best practices in architecture, security, scalability, testing, and CI/CD will be essential, along with reviewing technical designs and code to guarantee high standards and feasibility of AI-driven features. Collaboration is paramount as you work closely with Product Management, Solution Architects, and Cloud Architects to deliver seamless features. Coordination between teams for planning, sprints, releases, and documentation will be crucial, along with owning stakeholder communication related to technical deliverables and team velocity. Process and governance will fall under your purview as you establish Agile practices, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to foster project accountability. Implementing engineering KPIs, QA standards, and incident handling processes will be necessary, as well as ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements in cloud environments. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with at least 10 years of engineering experience, including 3+ years in leadership roles. Your technical expertise should include a strong background in Python, FastAPI/Django, and DevOps pipelines, coupled with familiarity in system design, microservices, AI integration, and distributed systems. Additionally, experience in building AI/ML-enabled enterprise platforms, familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS/Azure/GCP, knowledge of compliance standards such as ISO, NIST, SOC2, and familiarity with observability platforms like Grafana, Prometheus, and ELK are considered advantageous.
