Head of Group Accounting

Role Overview: As the head of Group Accounting, you will be responsible for maintaining the books of account for the entire Group in compliance with IFRS, local legal regulations, and ensuring a true and fair view of the company's state of affairs. You will oversee consolidations, establish internal controls, and liaise with all stakeholders. Additionally, as the India site lead, your role will involve ensuring compliance with local guidelines, smooth functioning of operations, and fostering a customer-oriented work culture. Key Responsibilities: - Manage Group accounting and internal controls for all entities, including monthly closing, annual audit reporting, and reporting to external and internal stakeholders within statutory deadlines. - Oversee statutory compliances for all Group entities, maintain relationships with Authorities, Auditors, and Advisors, and ensure compliance with statutory financial requirements in all operating locations. - Control timely and accurate invoicing of Group revenue, manage accounts receivables, and minimize potential exposure to bad debt through monthly invoicing and follow-up for each business unit. - Ensure compliance with prevailing legislation in India, including timely and accurate reporting to authorities, compliance with labour laws, renewal of licenses, etc., to support smooth operations. - Promote the Culture and Values of the Group in India, drive morale, and engagement of the entire team to foster a cohesive organization. - Handle exceptions, disciplinary issues, and take necessary actions to safeguard the company's business interests. Qualifications Required: - Chartered Accountant or equivalent (ACA, ACCA, CIMA). - Knowledge of local legal regulations for doing business in India. - Over 15 years of experience in accounting functions, with at least 5 years as the head of the department. - Experienced user of Financial ERP Systems. - Experience in leading offshored activities as a process lead or site lead. - Strong knowledge of IFRS or other international accounting standards. - Ability to function in a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders. - Proven experience in managing multi-currency consolidations. - Leading and influencing without direct reporting structures. - Strong knowledge of process management tools and techniques, ranging from client relations to task mapping and execution. - Uncompromising customer focus.
