Head of GPS Data Platform

Role Overview: As the Head of GPS Data Platform at HSBC, you will work closely with key Engineering leadership to develop and implement the roadmap for data platforms. Your responsibilities will focus on ensuring the upkeep and availability of systems to meet operational requirements, with a strong emphasis on Risk and Control governance. Additionally, you will be accountable for managing finances, application design, development, testing, production implementation, support/maintenance, and providing thought leadership on DevOps and Agile development methodologies. Key Responsibilities: - Work with key Engineering leadership to develop and implement the roadmap for data platforms - Ensure upkeep and availability of systems with a focus on Risk and Control governance - Manage finances, application design, development, testing, production implementation, and support/maintenance - Provide thought leadership on DevOps and Agile methodologies - Manage cross-skilling and up-skilling initiatives within the organization - Engage with senior management stakeholders across Technology, Ops, and Business teams - Develop and manage a high-performing team to meet present and future needs - Lead performance management, talent development, and retention initiatives - Provide SME knowledge in big data, cloud, resiliency, and supportability - Lead and provide guidance to the delivery team, addressing delivery issues in a timely manner - Ensure IT estate compliance with security and regulatory requirements - Drive RTB efficiency initiatives and manage cyber security threats effectively Qualifications Required: - Understanding of API technology, containerization, and microservices - Experience with big data, cloud, and leading data platforms in a complex organization - Demonstrable engineering excellence in software development - Ability to drive change in a global organization like HSBC - Exposure to regulatory requirements and audit examinations - Experience in managing dev teams across multiple locations and geographies - Strong knowledge of financial, operation, market, and regulatory drivers in a technology environment - Excellent decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal,
