Job Description

Responsible for the smooth functioning of the Microbiology department.
Ensure the Sr. Technicians carry out their responsibilities as outlined in their JDs for smooth functioning of their department.
Supervision of Technical Processes and Quality control of Microbiology.
Attending to client queries and complaints pertaining to the Microbiology.
Daily review of Microbiology reports and ensuring that they meet TAT.
Reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures for the department on a regular basis.
Maintain contact with Sales and Marketing division to give inputs regarding technical content of various tests.
Conducting regular with team members to analyze problems regarding reviewing, queries, reversal issues, suggestions from team members for improvements and any other issues faced by the departments.
Organizing departmental seminar presentations on review-related topics in Microbiology.
Presenting Papers and Invited talks in different National & International level conferences.
Managing Doctor Relationship and to resolve Doctor/Consultants queries successfully on priority in Microbiology.
Supervision of On-the-job training to scientific staff.
Ensure proper maintenance of material consumption, inventory management and no wastage.
Ensuring Quality, Accuracy, Safety and TAT are maintained as per norms.
Monitoring of NABL & CAP compliances (SOPs & QCs).
Raising of all Purchase requisitions, Material requisition for the department.
Monthly analysis of QC data plan corrective actions & preventive actions for outliers.
Involvement in preparation of monthly report of the department.
Assigning and deploying, the human resource in order to provide timely Lab diagnostic services.
Interacting with doctors, for test ordering practices, clarification and reports and counseling patients whenever circumstances permit.
Participate in CMEs/ Conferences, so that it has an influence on the perception of doctors.
Daily review of abnormal results.
Clinical reporting for Microbiological culture reports, Serology, Immunology, Mycobacteriology reports.
Administrative responsibilities of Microbiology department.
Generation and supervision of all SOPs & WIs related to the section.
Training Marketing executives about scientific validity and clinical significance of the tests offered in the section.
Interacting with clinicians to discuss and clarify results of clinical reports, and also as a measure for continual improvement of services provided.
Development, standardization and validation of novel Microbiology assays.
