Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1.

  • Define and execute the IT transformation roadmap aligned with business and regulatory objectives.
  • Lead modernization of core insurance systems (Policy Administration, Claims, Underwriting, Billing).
  • Partner with business leaders to enable digital-first products and services.
  • Strategic change leader towards incubating AI mindset within the organisation

2.

  • Drive adoption of cloud computing, AI/ML, RPA, data analytics, and API-based architectures.
  • Change leader towards implementation of AI across various processes
  • Implement digital platforms for:

a) Claims automation & adjudication

b) Provider network & TPA integrations

c) Customer & agent portals

  • Lead legacy system migration and application rationalization.

3.

  • Ensure IT systems comply with IRDAI guidelines, data localization norms, and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Support regulatory reporting and compliance automation.

4.

  • Optimize IT operations, application performance, and infrastructure reliability.
  • Establish IT governance, SLAs, KPIs, and transformation metrics.
  • Improve turnaround time for claims, endorsements, and customer service through automation.

5.

  • Demonstrates strong people management and team building capabilities, build a culture of We vs I, strong focus on empathy and fairness
  • Manage strategic partnerships with technology vendors, TPAs, cloud providers, and system integrators.
  • Oversee vendor selection, contract negotiation, and performance management.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders across underwriting, claims, finance, actuarial, and compliance teams.

2. Improved claims settlement TAT and customer satisfaction.

3. Scalable, secure, and compliant IT architecture.

4. Reduced operational costs through automation and system optimization.

Preferred candidate profile

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors/Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • MBA or equivalent management qualification preferred.

Experience

  • 20+ years of overall IT experience, with 8–10 years in leadership roles.
  • Strong experience in health insurance or insurance IT environments.
  • Proven track record of large-scale IT or digital transformation programs.
