Head - Foundry Operations

Kandiga Consultancy Services is looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of Foundry Operations to lead and oversee all aspects of the foundry operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for production, quality management, finance, accounts, purchasing, and new product development. This leadership role requires expertise in foundry operations, ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining quality standards, and driving continuous improvement within the plant.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Production

• Ensure the production and dispatch of castings as per customer specifications and timelines.
• Control variable costs to ensure optimal use of resources and budget.
• Collaborate with the plant engineering team to ensure all machines and equipment are maintained and operational.
• Plan and implement corrective and preventive actions to ensure smooth operation of equipment.
• Align with the business plan for the year and meet production goals.
• Ensure compliance with all environmental norms in the foundry operations.

B. Quality

• Minimize casting rejection and rework, ensuring that only high-quality products are produced.
• Maintain quality management systems and ensure all quality certifications are up-to-date.
• Support the quality team in upholding quality standards across the plant.

C. Finance/Accounts/Purchase

• Oversee the profit and loss for the foundry, ensuring financial goals are met.
• Ensure timely payments to suppliers/vendors, in line with accepted norms.
• Optimize material costs by identifying and implementing cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality.
• Develop a network of alternative suppliers for major raw materials to ensure a stable supply chain.

D. New Product Development/Methods

• Define and implement production processes for castings to meet customer and market requirements.
• Expand the customer base by developing new business opportunities and markets.
• Build and develop the foundry team to produce castings for industries beyond machine tool manufacturing.

• Expertise in quality management systems and process optimization.
• Ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement in operations.
