Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1. Inventory & Material Management

Plan, organize, and control overall store operations for raw materials, consumables, spares, packing, and finished goods.
Maintain optimum inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted production while controlling excess stock.
Implement FIFO/FEFO systems and periodic stock verifications.
Monitor material inward, issue, and return transactions through ERP systems.

2. Systems & Documentation

Ensure accurate maintenance of GRNs, MRNs, issue slips, and other store records.
Maintain bin cards, stock ledgers, and daily stock reports.
Ensure all transactions are updated timely in SAP / ERP.
Prepare monthly MIS and consumption reports for management review.

3. Team Leadership

Supervise store officers, supervisors, and helpers to ensure smooth operations.
Allocate responsibilities and monitor performance of store team.
Conduct training sessions on store management practices and 5S implementation.

4. Coordination & Communication

Coordinate with Purchase, Production, Maintenance, and Accounts departments for material requirements and issue planning.
Liaise with suppliers and transporters for incoming materials and dispatches.
Ensure timely clearance of rejected materials and follow-up with vendors.

5. Compliance & Audit

Ensure adherence to ISO, RBA, and internal audit norms.
Implement safety standards in stores proper stacking, labeling, and housekeeping.
Support finance and audit teams during physical verification and compliance checks.

6. Continuous Improvement

Implement cost-saving measures in storage and handling.
Introduce automation/digitization in store processes where feasible.
Identify and eliminate obsolete or non-moving inventory.
