Hardware Design Engineer

As a Hardware Design Engineer at Systel, Inc., your role involves research, design, development, documentation, and production of computer or electronic equipment. You will apply electronics theory to design, build, test, troubleshoot, and modify developmental and production computer systems and related hardware/software. Key Responsibilities: - Creating specifications and RTM as needed - Designing detailed systems including PC boards and firmware - Managing PDR, CDR, Prototype builds, and FDR - Keeping up-to-date with the latest technology developments for Systel products - Creating detailed work instructions for testing, configuring, and servicing products - Assisting with prototypes during the Product Development Cycle - Conducting testing and configuration of product prototypes in the Engineering Lab - Supporting Sales/Marketing in creating Product Specification Documents - Assisting Sales/Marketing/Engineering in attending Quote, Contract, and Design Reviews - Providing continuous support for existing product lines and configurations Qualifications Required: - Practical application of engineering science and technology - Design and test experience with microcontrollers, firmware, and FPGA tools - Experience with high-speed digital design and PCB layout considerations - Proficiency with PCI Express, USB 3.0, COM Express, and different computer architectures - Ability to communicate effectively with various departments within the organization - Troubleshooting skills in both hardware and basic software - Knowledge of standards such as ISO, 9001, ASTM, ANSI, and EIA Educational Requirements: - Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 5 years experience OR Bachelors of Science in Computer Engineering or equivalent with 10 years experience OR BTech Electronics & Communication In this role, you are expected to demonstrate outstanding verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
