The Finance & Accounting Manager is responsible for leading a high-performing offshore accounting team (India-based) in managing the month-end close process with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and timeliness . This role requires strong expertise in general accounting, intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and audit compliance (SOX & statutory). The successful candidate will be an effective leader with a deep understanding of US GAAP and Ind AS , process improvement, and stakeholder communication. Key Responsibilities Month-End Close & Reporting Lead and support an aggressive month-end and quarter-end close schedule , ensuring accurate and timely delivery of financial reports. Review and validate journal entries , general ledger movements , and analytical transactions . Conduct variance analysis for the Profit & Loss account , identifying material changes and root causes. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all reconciliations and schedules. General Accounting Operations Manage and review: Lease accounting Sales commissions Intercompany accounting (accruals, schedules) Bank reconciliations Fixed assets capitalization and maintaining the Fixed Asset Register (FAR) Prepare and review balance sheet account schedules . Compliance, Audit & Controls Coordinate and manage financial audits , SOX audits , and quarterly reviews . Provide comprehensive audit support and respond to internal/external audit and management queries. Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate policies. Collaborate with Big Four consultants and internal auditors on statutory audits and reporting obligations. Statutory & Financial Reporting Prepare and review financial statement footnotes for international and local statutory reports. Ensure reporting compliance with US GAAP , Ind AS , and relevant local accounting standards. Process Improvement & Automation Drive efficiency initiatives , including process mapping , automation , and continuous improvement across functions. Monitor IBM service delivery performance and report quality issues or service defects. Payroll Accounting & Partnership Partner with the payroll team to ensure accurate accounting of payroll-related transactions and reconciliations. Leadership & Team Management Develop, mentor, and lead a team of accountants and analysts . Own and manage special projects as requested by senior management. Report on key performance metrics, deliverables, and deadlines. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CA preferred) 8+ years of experience in general accounting, with 3+ years in a leadership or managerial role Strong knowledge of US GAAP , Ind AS , and statutory accounting principles Proven experience with Oracle ERP (or similar platforms) Hands-on experience with SOX compliance , audit support , and internal control frameworks Excellent skills in account reconciliations , variance analysis , and financial reporting Demonstrated leadership in managing offshore teams and cross-functional collaboration Experience working with external auditors , especially Big Four firms Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills Proficient in MS Excel , PowerPoint , and data analysis tools
