Grade 2 Mother Teacher

The Mother Teacher concept involves one teacher being primarily responsible for all academic and emotional development needs of the same set of children throughout the year. The Mother Teacher for Grade 2 will create a warm, supportive, and structured environment to foster student growth across academic, social, and emotional domains. She will teach core subjects like English, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, and Moral Science, integrating playful and experiential learning methods suited for early childhood development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the main point of contact and emotional anchor for all students in the assigned class.
• Teach foundational subjects (English, Math, EVS, etc.) using child-centered and activity-based methods.
• Prepare and implement age-appropriate lesson plans in line with the curriculum and learning objectives.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Observe and assess each child’s progress and maintain detailed records.
• Conduct regular communication with parents regarding the child’s development and performance.
• Organize and participate in school events, workshops, parent-teacher meetings, and co-curricular activities.
• Support the emotional well-being of each child and provide personalized attention when needed.
• Collaborate with co-teachers and the academic team for curriculum planning and professional development.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Education or Child Development).
• B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification (mandatory in most cases).
• 1–3 years of experience teaching young children, preferably in early primary grades.
• Warm, nurturing attitude with strong classroom management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Knowledge of modern teaching methodologies and learning styles.
