They are accountable to evaluate the weight, purity, and quality of the gold items being appraised to ensure accuracy and conformity to the industry standard. Responsibilities: Conducting appraisals: Perform detailed examinations of gold-based items to determine the purity, weight, and authenticity. Test Methods: Make use of a range of test methods and equipment to evaluate the quality of gold, such as Acid tests, electronic testers, and density meters. Information: Accurately record appraisal details, such as purity, weight, and any distinctive marks or features. Customer service: Interact with clients professionally and in a friendly manner, answering their questions and concerns about the appraisal procedure. Market Information: Stay informed about the latest market trends, prices for gold, and regulations for the industry for accurate evaluations. Collaboration: Collaborate with other members of the team, such as sales associates and jewellers, to ensure smooth customer service and accurate pricing. Maintenance of Equipment: Ensure that all equipment used for appraisal is correctly calibrated and maintained to provide accurate results.
