The Events Platform team at Gojek provides Kafka and its ecosystem as a managed service to enable event-driven architecture across our products The team ensures a scalable, reliable, and developer-friendly platform to support real-time messaging and data streaming needs across all Gojek applications The platform you are building is designed to power diverse applications across Gojeks many business lines Your expertise will be crucial in delivering a reliable, cost-effective, and enjoyable experience for the developers using our platform If you enjoy creating tools for fellow developers and are comfortable dealing with high scale and complex distributed systems this role will be a great fit

What You Will Do

Architect and drive the evolution of Apache Kafka infrastructure in a large-scale, multi-cloud environment, ensuring global availability, resiliency, data integrity, and low-latency messaging across business-critical systems Design and implement scalable frameworks and platform-level abstractions for Kafka producers and consumers, setting technical direction and enforcing consistency, observability, and governance across engineering teams Implement automation frameworks for end-to-end platform operations including provisioning, elastic scaling, cross-AZ/cross-region failover, backup/restore with minimal human intervention Define and enforce SLOs/SLAs for event streaming services utilizing inhouse observability tooling Own the strategy and delivery of self-service capabilities (, , Kafka topic lifecycle APIs, access control workflows, usage dashboards) to empower product teams while maintaining compliance, security, and operational excellence Influence and guide architecture decisions across the organization for event-driven systems, acting as a subject matter expert in Kafka performance tuning, schema evolution, message delivery semantics, and distributed system patterns

Drive the infrastructure-as-code strategy using Terraform, Helm, and Kubernetes operators, ensuring platform reproducibility, auditability, and environment parity across staging and production What You Will Need Atleast 4-5+ years of relevant experience in building applications from scratch, with proficiency in an object oriented or functional programming language (, Java, Golang, Clojure, Python, Ruby etc) Solid understanding of distributed systems fundamentals, event driven systems (Kafka and its ecosystem) and the ability to troubleshoot issues in a large-scale infrastructure First hand experience working with Kafka or any other message queue at a good scale Hands-on experience with container orchestration and cloud native infrastructure technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker Strong domain modeling skills and the ability to build RESTFul web services Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code tools, including Terraform and Helm
