GL Analyst

As the Manager of month-close process for ANZ entities, your role will involve directing and controlling financial management & reporting in compliance with statutory requirements, corporate policies, and procedures. You will contribute to management and external reporting, provide technical financial accounting advice, and report to the Senior Manager / Controller for ANZ Region. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare GL allocations, journal entries, and period end adjustments such as accruals and currency conversions. - Generate management and regulatory reports. - Complete month-end & year-end activities including P&L review meetings and HFM loading. - Ensure compliance with Group attestation processes, Quarterly MI & Stats Packs. - Prepare and approve relevant regulatory reports. - Address external & internal audit queries. - Investigate, resolve, and escalate any variances in balance sheet reconciliations. - Ensure timely resolution of queries from business owners and customers. - Manage reconciliations in accordance with policy. - Reconcile POS and online transactions impacting bank and control accounts. - Participate in team meetings. - Examine variances through reconciliation systems, coda, or TLM. - Perform manual matching including automatic allocation. Qualifications Required: - MBA with a good understanding of accounting and reconciliations. - Experience working in a fast-paced / Global finance department, preferably in a shared service environment with on/offshore presence. - 0-5 years of work experience in a similar environment. - Proven experience in a similar financial environment. - Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders. - Knowledge of financial services/banking and basic bookkeeping. - Ability to meet tight deadlines with accuracy. - High attention to detail and problem-solving skills. - Experience in resolving variances and using reconciliation systems.
