Geographic Information Systems Manager

The Manager, Geospatial Technology, will have expertise in technology, data, analytics, engineering, and science solutions and projects related to location. You will lead a squad within the wider Geospatial team within Oil and Gas Technology, gaining exposure to pioneering technologies and their real-world applications. Collaboration with other Geospatial SMEs, Digital Product, and business partners will be key in deploying and developing Geospatial technology, data & analytical solutions across various domains including Production, Projects, Subsurface & Wells, Crisis, Renewables, and Refining. Your responsibilities will include team leadership and people management, providing direction to subordinates & resources within the Geospatial Technology Team. You will actively balance workloads, priorities, and metrics of team members, empowering them to drive improvements to Geospatial products and solutions. Developing data expert capability within the team and identifying development opportunities will also be a crucial aspect of your role. Key technical expectations involve developing innovative solutions and promoting standard methodology to enhance efficiency and quality across the geospatial team and products. Your expertise should include Geospatial Technology, Geospatial Data Management, Geospatial Analysis, Spatial Data Visualization, Reality capture, and proficiency in data-related technologies/languages and tools such as Python, R, JavaScript, ArcGIS Desktop, and Enterprise suite. To be successful in this role, you should have a track record of creating innovative solutions, challenging conventional thinking, and actively applying data science techniques such as automation and machine learning. Citizenship, autonomy in problem identification, stakeholder management, change management, communication skills, and business impact are also essential attributes for success. Qualifications for this position include a minimum of 12 years of experience in a similar role and a Bachelors / Masters degree in GIS, Geospatial, Geospatial Survey, Geographic Science, Computer Science, or related fields.
