General Manager (Mechanical)

A Plant and Machinery engineer responsible for the installation, maintenance, and efficient operation of heavy machinery and equipment at a construction site

This role involves monitoring equipment health, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, managing spare parts, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and optimizing machine uptime and resource utilization to support project targets and minimize costs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Equipment Management:

Oversees the maintenance, repair, and installation of all on-site plant and machinery, including excavators, cranes, concrete equipment, and other construction vehicles.

• Maintenance Scheduling:

Develops and implements preventive maintenance schedules to keep equipment in good working condition and minimize breakdowns.

• Resource Optimization:

Ensures optimal utilization of resources and machine efficiency to meet project deadlines and maintain productivity.

• Safety Compliance:

Enforces safety rules and regulations on site, educates operators on safe equipment operation, and monitors adherence to quality standards.

• Spare Parts Management:

Coordinates the procurement of necessary spare parts and maintains an optimal inventory to avoid delays and minimize costs.

• Cost Control:

Prepares maintenance cost summaries, identifies ways to reduce operating expenses, and monitors budget adherence.

• Documentation and Reporting:

Maintains equipment records, prepares reports on performance and costs, and documents maintenance activities log

• Batching plants /Crusher Plant/ Concrete Plant
• Tower cranes / Gantry Cranes
• Excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and other earthmoving equipment
• Construction vehicles like dumpers and tippers etc.
• Concreting equipment, and machinery mixers, compactors, pavers, and road rollers
