General Manager/ Asst. General Manager-Purchase

As a Senior Manager/ Manager-Purchase at SGT University, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end purchasing activities related to Civil material Purchase and Medical Equipment. Your role involves on-boarding strategic vendor partners, estimating Direct Material Cost (DMC) and Capex, analyzing quotations, negotiating with suppliers, and optimizing the process and supply chain. Your excellent communication, organizational, planning, analytical, and time-management skills will be crucial in achieving cost efficiencies through various cost reduction levers. **Key Responsibilities:** - Prepare DMC and Capex estimation for all materials - Identify vendors with advanced technology, prepare business plans, and validate vendors - Review technical specifications to shortlist vendors - Analyze quotations received and prepare cost estimates for parts - Propose a shortlist of suitable vendors after negotiation - Recommend vendors based on long-term sourcing strategy - Obtain internal approval for vendor finalization and release Purchase Orders - Monitor suppliers" financial health, operations, and IR health for long-term sustainability - Identify vendors for long-term partnerships and develop vendors for critical items - Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers and optimize the process and supply chain - Release RFQ for shortlisted vendors and amend Purchase Orders on revised pricing **Qualification & Experience:** **Essential:** - Masters degree in Finance, accounting, or Materials Management - Professional additional qualifications will be an added advantage - Minimum 12-18 years of proven experience in a similar role - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Excellent organizational, planning, analytical, and time-management skills **Desirable:** - Experience in Purchase Process, Supplier Negotiation, Should Costing/Zero Based Costing - Understanding and experience of Cost reduction levers, part validation, and performance measures - Knowledge of various materials and commercial implications SGT University, located near Gurgaon, offers a wide range of programs in Medical and Non-Medical domains and is a part of a group with interests in education and hospitality.
