Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated GCP Data Engineer to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, PySpark for distributed data processing, BigQuery for data warehousing, and Apache Airflow for orchestration. You will be responsible for building scalable data pipelines, optimizing data workflows, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using PySpark and Airflow
Build and optimize data models and data marts in BigQuery
Integrate data from various sources including APIs, flat files, and streaming platforms
Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms
Collaborate with data analysts, scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data needs
Ensure data security, compliance, and governance best practices on GCP
Optimize performance and cost-efficiency of data workflows and storage.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

6+ years of experience in data engineering or related field
Strong proficiency in PySpark and distributed data processing
Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, especially BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub
Proficient in Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration
Solid understanding of SQL, data modeling, and performance tuning
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., Git)
Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform) is a plus
