Garment Technician

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and review

  samples and prototypes

  for knitted garments as per buyer specifications.
• Ensure

  fit, measurement, and construction accuracy

  throughout the sampling and production process.
• Conduct

  technical evaluations

  and provide solutions to improve garment quality and consistency.
• Coordinate with

  merchandising, pattern, and production teams

  to ensure smooth sample development and bulk execution.
• Review

  fabric behavior, shrinkage, and stretch recovery

  to ensure suitability for styles.
• Prepare and maintain

  technical packs (tech packs)

  , including specifications, construction details, and measurement charts.
• Attend

  fit sessions

  and provide technical comments to achieve the approved fit and look.
• Monitor

  pilot runs and production lines

  to ensure adherence to approved standards.
• Identify and resolve

  technical and quality issues

  during pre-production and production stages.
• Provide

  technical guidance and training

  to production teams on construction methods and finishing techniques.

Desired Skills:

• Strong knowledge of

  knit fabrics, garment construction, and sewing techniques

  .
• Experience with

  buyer fittings and sample approvals

  .
• Good understanding of

  AQL, quality standards, and garment testing requirements

  .
• Proficiency in

  MS Office and technical documentation

  .
• Strong communication and coordination skills with cross-functional teams

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma or Degree in

  Textile / Garment Technology

  .

• 3 to 8 years

  of experience as a Garment Technician in

  knitwear manufacturing

  .
• Strong understanding of

  knit fabric behavior, garment fit, and construction techniques

  .
• Hands-on experience in

  sample development, pattern correction, and fit approvals

  .
• Familiar with

  buyer technical requirements

  and

  production quality standards

  .
• Ability to

  analyze technical issues

  and provide practical solutions during production.
• Good communication and coordination skills with

  merchandising, sampling, and production teams

  .
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to

  manage multiple styles

  under tight timelines.
• Proficient in

  MS Office

  and basic knowledge of

  CAD pattern systems

  (added advantage).
