Garment Fit Technician

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Pattern & Technical Development

• Pattern making, correction, and grading across sizes
• Use of CAD systems to digitize, refine, and update patterns

Sample & Fit Evaluation

• Coordinate with design, sampling, and factory teams for prototype development
• Conduct fit sessions on mannequins or live models
• Assess comfort, proportion, and movement
• Recommend and implement fit and pattern corrections

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure garments meet durability, wash care, and wearability standards
• Verify production samples match design intent and specifications
• Identify and resolve issues related to sizing, stitching, or fabric behavior

Communication & Coordination

• Interpret tech packs and technical sheets
• Communicate fit comments and technical corrections to vendors and factories
• Collaborate with design, merchandising, and production teams to meet timelines

Production Support

• Review and approve pre-production samples before bulk manufacturing
• Monitor production for fit and quality consistency
• Provide fit-related feedback for future collections
