Functional Test Engineer

Job Summary: Job title: Functional Test Engineer Shift: Night Shift (US timings) Experience: 5+ Yrs Responsibilities: Analyse Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and other technical specifications to understand system functionalities. Conduct in-depth analysis of functional requirements to identify potential risks and areas for improvement. Design and execute manual and exploratory testing for web applications, APIs, and web services with POSTMAN. Utilize SQL queries to perform database testing and ensure data integrity. Manage and maintain a robust defect tracking system (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla) to efficiently document, report, and track bugs. Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases covering all aspects of the software application. Execute test cases manually and through exploratory testing techniques to identify defects. Experience with Microsoft Azure a plus. Knowledge in UiPath is a plus and good knowledge on automation tools Collaborate with developers to understand, reproduce, and resolve defects. Participate in defect triage meetings Maintain clear and concise test documentation. Mentor and guide junior QA team members, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement. Stay abreast of the latest QA methodologies, tools, and best practices, recommending and implementing advancements within the team. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly articulate test results and collaborate across departments. Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and excellence Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment Adaptability to changing priorities and a fast-paced work environment Qualifications: 3 to 5+ years of experience in software functional testing, with a proven track record of success in a senior role. In-depth understanding of SDLC methodologies and a strong grasp of QA processes. Expertise in manual and exploratory testing techniques. Familiarity with API testing tools like POSTMAN and web services concepts. Proficiency in SQL for database testing and manipulation. Experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud platform is a strong plus. Proven ability to lead and mentor junior QA team members. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively present information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
