Freelance VR Game Developer

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Freelance VR Game Developer with a strong portfolio of immersive, interactive virtual reality games. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing high-quality VR gaming experiences across various platforms such as Oculus, HTC Vive, and PlayStation VR.

This role requires a self-driven, creative, and technically proficient developer with a deep understanding of 3D game engines, physics, UI/UX in VR, and a passion for innovation in immersive technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop VR game mechanics, environments, and interactions from concept to deployment.
• Build immersive and responsive gameplay experiences using engines like Unity 3D or Unreal Engine.
• Integrate 3D assets, animations, and audio into the VR environment.
• Optimize performance for various VR platforms, ensuring smooth frame rates and responsiveness.
• Collaborate with designers, 3D artists, and project leads to meet game design requirements and timelines.
• Debug, test, and iterate based on user feedback and technical challenges.
• Ensure VR experiences align with device-specific input systems (Oculus Touch, HTC Vive controllers, etc.).

Requirements:

• 4–5 years of hands-on experience in VR game development.
• Proficiency with Unity3D or Unreal Engine, with strong C# or C++ programming skills.
• Experience deploying VR content on platforms such as Meta Quest, HTC Vive, or PlayStation VR.
• Solid understanding of 3D math, physics, and VR interaction design.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a freelance capacity.
• Portfolio of completed VR projects or prototypes is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with networked multiplayer VR experiences.
• Knowledge of shader programming, lighting, and visual effects in VR.
• Background in AR/VR storytelling or gamified training experiences is a plus.
• Comfortable working in agile, collaborative environments.
