Freelance Senior Python Developer – GCP

Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Python Developer with strong expertise in building scalable backend systems and microservices on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The consultant will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance Python-based services, integrating with frontend applications, and ensuring reliability and scalability for large-volume transaction systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop Python-based backend services using FastAPI and Django
• Build and maintain microservices and RESTful web services
• Develop and deploy applications on Google Cloud Platform
• Work with GCP services including Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, GKE, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and IAM
• Integrate backend APIs with frontend applications built using React
• Design and implement API integrations with internal and external systems
• Optimize application performance for high-throughput and large-volume transactions
• Implement efficient data access layers and performance tuning strategies
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and security of deployed services
• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver end-to-end solutions

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Python development
• Experience building APIs using FastAPI and Django
• Proven experience developing Python microservices and RESTful APIs
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services
• Experience deploying and running applications on Cloud Run and GKE
• Experience working with BigQuery and Cloud Storage
• Good understanding of IAM, service accounts, and access controls
• Experience integrating React frontends with backend APIs
• Strong knowledge of performance tuning and reliability engineering
• Ability to work independently in a freelance or contract environment
