Job Description

As a Team Lead for the new PMO function in the Agro-Chemical contract manufacturing business of our esteemed client, you will play a crucial role in setting up and leading the PMO function. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing core project management processes, tools, and governance structures. You will collaborate closely with external clients to understand technical and commercial requirements and translate them into actionable work plans. Working with internal cross-functional teams including R&D, operations, engineering, quality, and supply chain will be essential to align execution with client expectations. Ensuring timely, on-budget, and high-quality execution of all projects across the manufacturing lifecycle will be a key focus. Monitoring project KPIs, preparing regular updates, and presenting progress reports to senior leadership will also be part of your responsibilities. Proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks, risks, and interdependencies during execution will be crucial. Additionally, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the project teams and building and mentoring a high-performing PMO team as the function scales will be important aspects of your role. Key Responsibilities: - Set up and lead the PMO function for a growing agro-chemical contract manufacturing business. - Design and implement core project management processes, tools, and governance structures. - Collaborate closely with external clients to understand technical and commercial requirements and translate them into actionable work plans. - Work with internal cross-functional teams including R&D, operations, engineering, quality, and supply chain to align execution with client expectations. - Ensure timely, on-budget, and high-quality execution of all projects across the manufacturing lifecycle. - Monitor project KPIs, prepare regular updates, and present progress reports to senior leadership. - Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks, risks, and interdependencies during execution. - Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the project teams. - Build and mentor a high-performing PMO team as the function scales. Qualifications Required: - Degree in Chemical Engineering (Masters preferred). - 10-15 years of experience, including: 1. Project management and program delivery in contract manufacturing or process industries (chemicals, pharmaceuticals, API, CDMO/CDMO-like businesses). 2. Exposure to client-facing roles, including gathering requirements and managing expectations. 3. Prior experience in a consulting environment (Big 4, MBB) is highly desirable. - Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, process scale-up, and technical project delivery. - Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams, manage complexity, and drive structured problem solving. - Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills. - Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, MS Project, etc.). Additional Details: - Bangalore based role with a requirement to spend 3-4 days at the plant in Berigai. - The project initially offers a 3-month contract role, with the potential to convert to full-time based on performance.,
