A forklift operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment to load, unload, move, and stack goods within warehouses, factories, or distribution centers. They must conduct daily equipment inspections, report mechanical issues, and ensure all operations comply with safety regulations and company policies. The role requires accurate documentation of inventory movement, proper labeling, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Operators must communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate tasks efficiently and help prevent accidents. Additionally, they are expected to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), follow operational procedures, participate in training and certification programs, and perform minor maintenance or refueling of the equipment as needed.
