A Maintenance Technician Trainee in a plastics injection molding company is responsible for assisting in the maintenance, repair, and support of injection molding machines, molds, and auxiliary equipment. This entry-level position is designed for individuals starting their careers in industrial maintenance, providing hands-on training under the guidance of experienced technicians. The trainee will gradually develop technical skills needed to support smooth plant operations and machine reliability. Key Responsibilities: Machine Maintenance Support: Assist in routine preventive maintenance activities on injection molding machines (e.g., Haitian, Arburg, JSW), and learn to work with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. Auxiliary Equipment Support: Help in basic maintenance and cleaning of equipment such as mold temperature controllers (MTCs), dryers, chillers, compressors, and hot runner systems. Mold Setup Assistance: Support in mold changeovers, basic mold setup tasks, and ensure proper connection of cooling and heating lines. Electrical Learning Tasks: Observe and assist with basic electrical work like replacing sensors, inspecting heater bands, and simple panel wiring under supervision. Daily Machine Checks: Fill out daily checklist reports and report machine performance issues to senior technicians. Tools & Spare Management: Help organize tools and assist in tracking spare parts inventory in the maintenance store. Breakdown Assistance: Respond quickly to minor equipment issues, providing initial support before escalating to senior staff. Safety & Cleanliness: Follow all safety guidelines and help maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free maintenance area. Learning & Development: Participate in technical training programs and on-the-job learning to build practical knowledge in troubleshooting and repair. Process Support: Contribute to continuous improvement activities aimed at reducing downtime and improving equipment reliability.
