Job Description

Firewall and SD-WAN Expert

Role & responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage
Fortinet Firewalls (FortiGate) and SD-WAN solutions
across multiple sites.
Configure and maintain
VPNs (IPSec/SSL)
,
routing (BGP, OSPF, static)
, and
high availability clusters
.
Manage security policies, user authentication, application control, and threat protection features.
Monitor network performance and security using tools such as
FortiAnalyzer/FortiManager
.
Perform proactive troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and fine-tuning of firewall/SD-WAN setups.
Collaborate with IT security and networking teams to align firewall rules with security best practices.
Stay updated with Fortinet product updates, security advisories, and recommend upgrades/patches.
Support DR, failover, and redundancy planning for critical business applications.
Prepare and maintain documentation, SOPs, and network diagrams.

Preferred candidate profile

3-7 years
of hands-on experience with
Fortinet firewalls (FortiGate)
and
SD-WAN solutions
.
Strong understanding of
networking protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, QoS, etc.)
.
Experience in
VPN technologies, SSL/IPSec
, and remote access solutions.
Familiarity with
security concepts
(IPS, WAF, Web,Filtering, AV, DLP).
Good knowledge of
WAN optimization, routing, and failover mechanisms
.
Strong troubleshooting skills using CLI, logs, and monitoring tools.
Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Fortinet NSE 4/5/7 certifications
or higher.
Experience with other firewall platforms (Palo Alto, Check Point, Cisco ASA/Firepower, etc.).
Knowledge of cloud networking (AWS/Azure security groups, cloud firewalls).
Experience in large-scale enterprise or BFSI environments
