Position Overview

The Safety Officer – Fire plays a key role in ensuring fire safety compliance, emergency preparedness, and proactive risk management within the hospital. The role requires hands-on experience in fire and life safety systems, fire drill management, and adherence to statutory safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections of fire safety equipment, including alarms, extinguishers, hydrants, sprinklers, and emergency exits.
  • Ensure all fire safety systems are functioning as per statutory and NABH/JCI standards.
  • Lead emergency response planning and conduct fire drills, evacuation drills, and staff fire safety training.
  • Monitor hazardous areas, identify risks, and implement preventive measures.
  • Maintain records, logbooks, and reports related to fire safety compliance.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Security, and other departments for safety audits and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory authorities such as Fire Department, Pollution Control Board, etc.
  • Respond promptly to fire alarms, emergency calls, and incident reports.
  • Assist in developing and updating hospital fire safety policies and SOPs.
  • Investigate fire-related incidents and recommend safety improvements.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Fire & Safety Engineering or related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience in fire safety, preferably in hospitals, healthcare institutions, or large facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of fire detection systems, suppression systems, and emergency protocols.
  • Familiarity with NABH/JCI safety standards is an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication, training, and incident-handling skills.
  • Ability to work in rotational shifts and respond to emergency situations.

Pay: ₹11,393.80 - ₹25,000.00 per month
