Fire Protection Engineer - Bangalore

Role & responsibilities

The Fire Protection Engineer is responsible for:

• Understanding Client requirements, project objectives and applicable regulatory and

normative requirements in France

• Performing hazardous area classification and fire risk identification
• Performing fire risk analysis of nuclear and non-nuclear buildings and infrastructure in

order to demonstrate the adequate management of fire hazards

• Performing fire simulations (modelling of heat loads, reference fire scenarios, etc.)
• Defining fire sectorization requirements and implementing them in a building /

infrastructure

• Performing escape, evacuation and rescue assessment reports
• Defining escape routes and safety equipment layouts
• Defining Fire Protection philosophy of a building / area (active / passive)
• Performing the design of fire detection and fire protection of the related scope
• Delivering associated documentation in line with Client, project and regulatory

requirements and in accordance with schedule

• Working in close collaboration with the 2D CAD Designer and 3D CAD / Integration

Designer as well as with Engineers of other disciplines

• Managing interfaces with other disciplines
• Attending design meetings and design control groups with the Client
• Responding to technical questions and comments from the Client and advising the

Client related to fire protection optimizations for the benefit of the project

• Assessing impact of changes requested by the Client

Preferred candidate profile

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

At least 5 years experience in fire engineering (fire protection and extinguishing)

Knowledge of applicable French regulations
