Job Description

You will be joining the Financial Lines & Casualty Underwriter team at Starr Insurance Companies, based in the newly established office in GIFT City, India. Your role will involve developing and maintaining distribution channels, handling submissions, underwriting, marketing, and fostering relationships with producers and clients to promote Starr's coverages, products, and services. You will collaborate with the team to grow the portfolio successfully and profitably, handle certain administrative functions, and represent the company at external events. Additionally, you will assist Local and Regional Heads with ad hoc projects. **Key Responsibilities:** - Maintain and develop existing and new distribution channels. - Handle Financial Lines and Casualty submissions from different distribution channels. - Conduct underwriting and risk analysis of submissions, quotations, and placement. - Market, visit, and maintain relationships with producers, clients, and promote Starr coverages, products, and services. - Work closely with the team to grow the portfolio successfully and profitably. - Handle certain admin functions; co-ordinate with policy admin team to ensure accuracy of work performed, including but not limited to policy issuance, premium booking & filing. - Participate in external events when required as a representative of the company. - Assist Local and Regional Heads with ad hoc projects. **Qualifications:** - Good written and oral communication skills. - Good planning and organizational skills. - Good analytical, numerical, and literacy skills. - Proficient with computers, and experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other industry-related systems. - Good knowledge of market conditions and financial lines & casualty insurance products. The ideal candidate for this role should have a Master's degree or equivalent qualification and a minimum of 5-10 years of working experience in financial lines & casualty underwriting in India & South Asia.
