POSITION TITLE - Finance Analyst

LOCATION- Mumbai, India

COMPANY OVERVIEW : The role is with Altius, a Portfolio company of Brookfield Infrastructure (India).

Brookfield Infrastructure (India) is part of the Brookfield Global Infrastructure team. The Infrastructure Group in India in time will represent a diverse portfolio of critical infrastructure assets, currently focussed on transport, energy pipelines and communications, but ultimately expected to grow into other infrastructure asset classes. This group is in a continual growth phase with assets in the gas transport, telecom infrastructure and roads assets being currently managed.

JOB PURPOSE: (prime focus and objective of the position)

• The role entails working extensively with Altius finance and operations team, and bridging the gap with the Brookfield Portfolio Management team
• This role will require you to work closely with the Portfolio Management team of Brookfield in India and will be responsible for collaborating with and monitoring the finance functions of the operating company for continually improving the finance and business processes
• The role will also have responsibility to ensure that the finance teams conform to Brookfields reporting, compliance, and audit requirements
• The role will also be responsible for collating, reviewing, and preparing the periodic reporting to Brookfield HQ/Toronto. This includes collaborating with the remaining PM team for inputs and discuss/present the submissions to the Toronto/HQ team
• This role also requires working planning and execution of on boarding and integration activities for new incoming assets with the Brookfield environment

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: (define the reporting lines of the position)

Line of control for the purpose of management, performance and remuneration reviews is the Chief of Staff, Altius.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Prepare and maintain financial reporting templates on timely basis, for Brookfield and for Altius.
• Liaise with portfolio companies and various groups to consolidate, review and prepare report
• Adept at financial modelling, including preparation and review of Valuation (DCF & otherwise) and IRR models
• Work closely with and guide Operating companies to effectively manage preparation and submission of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and monthly actual reporting in accordance with guidelines provided by Brookfield
• Involvement with onboarding new investments, including supporting operating company teams to align with Brookfield finance processes
• Summarise and present financial and operational results/information to Senior Management at Brookfield in a coherent and succinct manner
• Work with the finance teams at the Operating companies to develop reliable cash flow projections and reports
• Review and analyse statutory and investor reports in accordance with various accounting frameworks
• Able to recommend and implement value add changes to current procedures and processes; and assists in reviews of financial and internal controls
• Work collaboratively with tax, legal, auditors, administrators, banks, across Brookfield and Operating companies etc.
• Work on ad-hoc activities involving Industry benchmarking and preparation of other reports as and when required.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Chartered Accountant, or other relevant tertiary qualification with exemplary academic record
• Experience in the finance function at operating companies would be desirable
• Minimum 3 years of experience, ideally at a Big Four accounting firm

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively, meeting quality, and timelines for deliverables
• Has solid experience with reviewing complex financial information and international reporting packages.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
