Finance Manager for DTC E-commerce Brand

The company:

The company was founded 8 years ago by a young Swiss Entrepreneur.

We produce and sell pet products in over 14 different countries, mostly through it’s website, as well as Amazon and other channels.

Because we are growing, we are looking for a Finance Manager to help us with our accounting, accounts payable and the tax obligations we have in 10+ different countries and states around the world.

The Job:

As Finance Manager you will be the only full-time employee in charge of our finances. Therefore the range of responsibilities is quite wide, but the biggest part of your job will be Treasury and Accounts payable, followed by bookkeeping, followed by tax compliance, and statutory filings we have to make for all the different companies we operate.

in bookkeeping you will use accounting software to categorize all transactions and create useful financial reports. Those reports will be used for internal management, to secure financing, and to comply with taxes. Since most of our revenue is done through online sales, you will work with our software developer to properly integrate our sales system with our accounting system.

From time to time you will also have tasks related to payroll, social security, and employee stock option plans. You will be able to recruit the help of our outside accounting firms.

You will also work on our annual corporate tax returns, and help apply for lines of credit from banks and other lenders.

But as we described earlier, the biggest part of your job will be Treasury and Accounts payable, bookkeeping and tax compliance.

You will have a high degree of responsibility and autonomy.

Requirements/Skills:

• Business oriented attitude. With our international supply chain, there will be difficult problems from time to time, when it comes to customs and tax compliance for example. In such situations you need to always think about the interests of our customers and our business, and come up with pragmatic, practical solutions. We are looking for a pragmatic business person who also knows how to create a balance sheet and P&L.
• You understand the principles of corporate taxes: VAT, income tax, sales tax etc.
• Fluent english
• Independence: As you will work remotely we need you to take responsibility and work unsupervised for longer periods of time.
• Business savvy: You understand which numbers are important, and which ones aren’t
• You know of accounting, you are really good at creating balance sheets, P&Ls and planning cashflows
• Intelligence&Curiosity: You will encounter a lot of problems you haven’t seen before. You need to be able to investigate them and come up with solutions
• Experience with accounting software
