Finance Controller - AM/Manager

As a candidate for the role offered by our client in Bangalore/Chennai, you will be expected to have a strong understanding and application of underwriting P&L, including Premium, Claims, Commission, Expenses, and reinsurance. Your responsibilities will include co-managing the corporate month-end close process, preparing annual statutory financial accounts in accordance with IFRS, and owning the global consolidation and reporting processes. You will also partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate accounting treatment and assist in developing scalable processes for the financial close process. Key Responsibilities: - Co-manage the corporate month-end close process, review journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analysis, and consolidated financial statements - Prepare annual statutory financial accounts in accordance with IFRS - Own and manage global consolidation and reporting processes, including accounting for foreign exchange rates and elimination of intercompany balances - Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate accounting treatment - Develop scalable processes for timely and accurate financial close process - Update intercompany methodology as needed - Streamline month-end close processes, consolidation policies, and processes over multiple ERP systems and currencies - Identify areas for improvement on internal processes and controls for efficiencies within consolidation, intercompany, and expense allocation process - Support automation initiatives of intercompany processes and other corporate accounting initiatives - Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the team, and promote professional development - Assist with internal and external audits to ensure compliance - Perform ad hoc projects as requested Qualifications Required: - Experience of 3 to 10 years in relevant field - Qualification of CA/CPA/MBA from Tier 2 & Tier 3 institutes - Strong understanding and application of US GAAP in major accounting areas - Ability to operate in a fast-paced, data-driven environment - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Detail-oriented with multitasking abilities and a strong ownership mindset - Strong systems knowledge with experience in Microsoft Excel - Exposure to consolidation and HFM application is an added advantage Additional Company Details: Our client offers digital platforms and solutions to various industries, with a focus on the financial services sector.
