An experienced engineer works collaboratively with the engineering/design team on the
production of design for fiber-based telecommunications infrastructure projects. These designs
are created by analysis of all the inputs, understanding the requirements and designing the
project on proprietary GIS system/
specifications of NESC, GO-95 standards, fiber optic design, OSP construction, Aerial
Infrastructure practices are required.
1. Performs all aspects of OSP engineering for fiber projects according to requirements and
guidelines.
2. Being the SME/Lead should be focusing on teams efficiency & quality by taking
necessary actions.
3. Taking lead on building process flow documents on aspects of designing and getting
approval for working with team.
4. Developing process in place to meet the business needs.
5. Working with different sets of teams like fielding, scoping, designing, automation etc.
6. IN depth understanding of modelling of a pole, spans, load cases, guys and anchors,
tension and sag calculator, Digital measurement technology (DMT) to perform
engineering with least support Checking the feasibility of the route & requesting for
scoping/Fielding.
7. Navigate web-based programs to gather data and complete analysis. Review field data
collected; identify and report failures or missing data. Ability to interpret and understand
field notes, schematics, maps, drawings & design packages. Complete pole loading
analysis utilizing #O-Calc/Spida Calc and submitting to client.
8. Determine make ready solution that meets National Electrical Safety Code (NESC)
and/or GO 95 California Public utilities Commission (CPUC) codes.
9. Having prior work experience in OSP design tools will be an added advantage.
10. Research and interpret inputs from client to gather all details to successfully design a
project.
11. QC projects and train green engineers in engineering and design work. Co- ordinate with
cross functional teams, ensure all region specific, client requirements are met before
delivery of project.
