Job Description

As a Quality Engineer at Apple, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on Apple products and leave a footprint for years to come. Partnering with multi-functional teams, you will represent the Manufacturing design team at Final Assembly and Testing (FATP). Your role will involve developing measurement technologies, control strategies, information systems, and manufacturing methods that achieve ambitious specifications at massive production scale. Your strong assembly tolerance stack and failure analysis skills will be crucial in quickly resolving assembly-related issues. You will compile and evaluate data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process and part specifications. Key Responsibilities: - Partner with multi-functional teams and represent Manufacturing design team at FATP - Develop measurement technologies, control strategies, information systems, and manufacturing methods - Resolve assembly-related issues using assembly tolerance stack and failure analysis skills - Compile and evaluate data for process and part specifications - Lead activities to balance quality with scalable yields - Ensure quality plan and measurements alignment across the supply chain - Coordinate all Quality Engineering functions for a program and lead efforts at FATP - Establish audit procedures for program and supplier alignment with Apple quality standards - Evaluate and communicate yields of processes - Drive corrective actions with internal and external team members Qualifications Required: - Strong project management and organizational skills - Exceptional communication skills with a strong teamwork approach - Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, Chemical Engineering, Material Engineering, or similar (ME/MS preferred) - Experience in manufacturing and Quality Control of highly sophisticated electronic assemblies - Experience in developing process quality plans, supplier quality audits, and driving corrective actions and failure analysis efforts - Working knowledge of mechanical quality, reliability concepts, supplier management, and general manufacturing operations - Proficiency in failure analysis with a first principles approach and large data sets - Disciplined in GD&T practices with attention to datum establishment and tolerance analysis - Project management experience with problem-solving tools like design of experiments, root cause analysis, and statistical analytical tools - Familiarity with critical assembly/joining processes like gluing, HAF, PSA, welding, and critical quality metrics - Strong communication skills and passion for learning in a cross-functional collaborative environment Apple is a company where new ideas transform into extraordinary products, services, and customer experiences.
